After a colourful Xmas breakfast in the plane we landed in Sukhothai -> What an extreme difference with Bangkok. The picture of the airport already gives an idea of that.
Our guide & driver picked us up and we drove to Sri Satchanalai, the sister city of Sukhothai to visit Wat Chang Lom and Wat Chedi Jet Tae. We also saw our first Indian elephants (alive ones :-).
A bus trip to Phitsanuloke to visit Wat Phra Sri Rattana Mahatat with its golden Buddha.
After a first experience with a real Thai toilet (don't forget to buy toilet paper if you are not prepared to clean it with water) we left for Sukhothai. -> Visit Wat Sri Chum, the big Buddha. You have an idea of the size when comparing the size of the hand and Phil :
After a stop at the pharmacy to buy something for me since not feeling better (do not think about the kind of pharmacy we know), we checked in in the hotel and Phil and Kathleen already tested the water (but although it warm weather the water is not that warm anymore at 18h)
